Why was divorce not enough?

There are not one, but two major stories circulating the true crime space of people poisoning their spouses to death. Look how similar these couples look:

(Kouri and Eric Richins and their three children)

(Angela and James Craig and their six children)

The Richins
This case took place in Utah in March of 2022. Kouri's story was that she'd made Eric a moscow mule to celebrate a recent sale he'd made. Immediately after that, she went to check on one of her three children. When she returned to Eric she found him unresponsive and cold to the touch, so she called 911.

After her husband's death, Kouri wrote a children's book called Are You With Me? which deals with grieving the death of a loved one. Kouri dedicated the book to her dead husband.

After the fact, the autopsy and toxicology report found that Eric had 5 times the lethal dosage of fentanyl in his system. And who was found to have been purchasing large amounts of fentanyl? Why none other than his loving wife Kouri.

It is suspected that Eric was privy to his wife's plans as he had taken her out of his will and removed her as the beneficiary of his life insurance policy. According to friends and family, he'd also told them that if anything happened to him, that Kouri was to blame.

The Craigs
So in the case of the Craigs the roles are reversed. It was discovered that James Craig, a local Colorado dentist had been poisoning his wife Angela over a period of a week and half. Angela thought that she was coming down with something, and James played the role of a doting husband, attending to her every need. In reality he was lacing her smoothies with Cyanide, killing her slowly and painfully.

AND, this was not the first time that he'd been caught poisoning Angela! Apparently before this, he'd poisoned her, I guess unsuccessfully, and told her that he was going to commit suicide and he wanted her to be unconscious so that she would't try to stop him. But then he very conveniently chickened out. If that is not the biggest gas light you've ever heard...

His motive? A tale as old as time. He was seeing another woman. Instead of seeking a divorce like a civilized person, he took the life of his own wife, and ripped a mother away from her SIX children.  Just disgusting.

And here are all of the text messages exchanged between Angela and James as he was poisoning her to death. Really disturbing.

I just cannot understand why divorce is not enough? Did these people really know nothing about toxicology reports? How in the world did they expect to get away with this shit?

GUITY

(Gannon Stauch, the most precious little 11 year old boy.)

Letecia Stauch has been tried and convicted of murdering her 11 year old Stepson Gannon Stauch. The Jury unanimously  voted guilty to murder in the first degree and murder in the first degree of a child under 12 by a person in a position of trust as well as tampering with a deceased human body and tampering with evidence.

Letecia was sentenced to two life sentences without the possibility of parole, both running concurrently, and then an additional 12 years for tampering with a deceased human body, and 18 months for tampering with evidence, both to run consecutively. That should do it.

The judge in this case made sure to hand out as much as he could to Letecia and went on to say that this was the worst case he'd ever seen. He had some very harsh words for Letecia and he did not hold back.  

This is exactly what most people expected would happen, but even so, it's still a relief. With trial by jury you just never know... (cough *** Casey Anthony** cough cough)

Al Stauch's statement at the end of the trial had me in tears start to finish. He has been very stoic throughout this entire ordeal and this was the first time I had seen him really break down. It was absolutely heartbreaking.  After everything that this horrible woman has put him and his family through, it's nice to see that she was finally shut down once and for all, and we can finally put a rest to this nonsense about her having Dissociative Identity Disorder.

Now that countless time and money has been wasted, Letecia can spend the rest of her days in prison as a child killer. I'm sure that will go over well for her.

‍Aiden's mom

‍Aiden Fucci's mom is still due to go to trial over charges of evidence tampering after she was caught washing her son's blood soaked jeans on her own video surveillance cameras.

During a hearing last week, Crystal Smith's attorney argued that a state expert should not be allowed to testify that it was possible to collect DNA evidence regardless of whether or not Crystal washed the jeans. The defence clearly wants to argue that since Crystal did not destroy the jeans, it should not be considered tampering with evidence.  Nice try Crystal.

Her trial date is set for May 15, and the maximum sentence she is eligible for is 5 years in prison.

The family of Tristyn Bailey had this to say:“We were hoping that a plea deal would be reached. This obviously would be a benefit to our family so that we can take our next step forward in focusing on the life and legacy of Tristyn. We also strongly feel this would benefit the community, particularly the children who have had to endure these years of lost innocence replay over and over in their mind.”‍
