This week I have been continuing to watch the Letecia Stauch trial. If you're keeping up lemme know, I have no one to talk to about this and it is all kinds of crazy.
I've had quite a few messages about my last podcast episode on the Hart family. Such a messed up case. That one really hit me in the gut, so I'm going to try and stay away from cases with child victims for a while.
Also, looks like the charges against Alec Baldwin are going to be dropped. Interesting...
Hope your week is freaky deaky (in a good way)!

My Pod
This week we have a kind of unsolved double homicide. However, the most controversial aspect of this case has to do with the police and emergency response to a harrowing 911 call.
You can watch or listen to this episode on Apple, Spotify or Youtube.
And maybe subscribe to us on youtube, if you want :)
What I'm watching/listening to
Besides the Letecia Stauch trial, I am currently part way through two other series. The first is a podcast called Deadly Diocese. It's on the Wondery network and I've been listening on Spotify. If you like investigative who dunnits this may be for you. This is a case that takes place within the Catholic Church. And it has all the typical aspects that one might expect of a murder/coverup situation in the Catholic church. No shade to Catholics, but I think we all know what I mean...T
his podcast was recommended to me by one of you, please keep them coming!
Another series I'm watching right now is a fictional horror series on Amazon called From. It's very Stephen King-y. To be honest, the writing and acting is not quite there, but the story is pretty creepy so I'm going to finish it. It has a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which I think is a bit too high.
The premise of the show is that there is this freaky little town that travellers somehow get trapped in, and at night these monster type people come out and rip people to shreds. The towns people are safe if they keep windows and doors locked and have this specific talisman hung in their home. Obviously their goal is to make it back home to their loved ones. It's super creepy and fun.
Too much true crime?
Okay, this video is super old. But I just came across it so it's new to me! And it's pretty fascinating. It's about a psychiatrist named Dr.John Bradford, a good ole Canadian fella, who spent a bunch of time working with some of the worst Canadian killers in recent history. Russell Williams, Luca Magnotta, Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka.
Not only did Dr.Bradford have to sit and interview these people in person, and try to get into their minds, he had to watch all the videos associated with these cases. It was Russell William's home videos that did him in.
Viewing the entirety of it caused him a host of mental instabilities. How could it not?? I won't give away too much, just watch it for yourself.
This story highlights the importance of taking breaks, and being aware of the affects of this type of content. Take a break, watch The Office again instead of another podcast detailing a gruesome murder case. Even if it's just for one night.
This is advice that I do not take myself, although I very much should...
Worst of the week
This week there were two instances of young people getting shot for the heinous crime of opening the wrong doors. WHAT THE HELL YOU GUYS!
First there was Ralph Yarl of Kansas City who was shot twice, once IN THE HEAD, by an 84 year old man named Andrew Lester. Ralph walked up to the house because he mistook it for the one that his younger brother and sister were visiting friends at.
The prosecutor in this case is alleging a racial component to this case, but has yet to elaborate further. Hopefully we'll get more details soon.
"Merritt said in an interview that police had taken the teenager’s statement, in which he described ringing the doorbell, waiting in silence between three and five minutes, and then watching the door open. He then saw a man appear. The homeowner, according to the teen’s recollection, said something about not wanting him “to come around anymore” and opened fire on the boy’s face from behind a screen glass door."
Then there were the two Texas cheerleaders, Payton Washington and Heather Roth, who opened the door to the wrong car. They'd mistook the vehicle for their own, which prompted the owner of the car to get out and shoot the two girls. They, like Ralph did survive, but Payton had to undergo surgery as the bullets had hit some major organs.
I'm sorry did I say two? Here's a third:
This woman, 20 year old Kaitlyn Gillis was shot to DEATH, after she and her friends drove their car into the wrong driveway in Upstate New York. It was late at night and Kaitlyn and her friends were looking for the home of another friend when they used a driveway belonging to 65 year old Kevin Monahan, who promptly shot twice at their vehicle, hitting and killing Kaitlyn.
Monahan has been charged with second degree murder.
This is madness.
