Hello all!

It's almost Halloween. Hope you're eating candy and watching scary movies, or taking some little kids out trick-or-treating. Hey would you ever check out this haunted house?

I found this documentary mini series on Crave called Buried, and it was about this case. And I found the whole situation so interesting. It's everything that interests me in a case. First, who dunnit? Then some weird psychological  phenomenon that is not even really verifiable and a trial, with bunch of footage! I don't want to give too much away since there is a part two coming next week. But *chefs kiss*!Check out  part 1 on Youtube, Apple or Spotify.  And maybe subscribe to us on youtube, if you want :)

Do you know this man? If you do I'm not surprised. If you don't, well, I hope you have some time on your hands to go down a very dark rabbit hole. This is Richard Kuklinski. Richard was a father, a husband, and okay, he wasn't great at either of those roles, but worst of all, it's possible he has killed around 200 people. Richard was a hit man for the mob. And he very well may have been the best hitman who ever lived. He was an innovative killer, whose efficiency and skill kept him employed with organized crime guys for YEARS. All while maintaining a family life. Again, not a good family life. But no one suspected hew was a raging murderer. The most fascinating part of Richard's case is that this guy, after being put away for life, sat down with HBO and agreed to be interviewed for a documentary series. Obviously it's hard to tell how honest any of these guys are. But, go watch for yourself and see what you think. On Richard we have:HBO Ice Man ConfessionsThe Iceman: Confession of a Mafia Hitman (Book)The Iceman (Movie)I have probably spent about a month of my life taking in this man's life story, He is... a lot... Why am I like this?????

Halloween x true crime

Here are a few spooky halloween stories. But these are real stories that actually happened. Here is a story of a woman whose suicide blended into the halloween decor. All the poor neighbour's thought she was a decoration...This guy got super upset over what he thought was another man's halloween costume, and beat the shit out of him. Maybe everyone should just relax about halloween costumes......The history of poison laced halloween candy.

These two women were senselessly murdered on halloween night, after handing out candy, and going to sleep by 11pm. Did you know that the Tool Box Killers committed their last murder on Halloween night?

Johnny Frank Garret was convicted and executed for raping and killing a nun on Halloween night in 1981. Now apparently, his guilt has come into question... I just might keep this in my back pocket for a future podcast episode...

Survey

So many people replied to last weeks question (what got you into true crime?) and interestingly most answers were very similar. Most people remember a specific case (mostly serial killers) that they were aware of at a young age, which got them thinking.

For me, it was watching the movie Monster about Aileen Wuoranos, when I was home sick from school in grade 12.  And since then I've never stopped.

This weeks's question:
Do you have any fun halloween traditions? I have little kids so I will be trick-or-treating for the next hundred years.
