Happy Friday!
Welcome to my newsletter! For anyone new here, Grim Weekly is a little sprinkle of whatever's new in true crime content from this week. ENJOY!
ALSO, Spooky Season is upon us! FINALLY. For the month of October, my podcast Who's Knocking? will be releasing a wee bit of extra content, so please stay tuned!
Lastly, I am part way through the new Dahmer series... it's pretty great IMHO. I had some very graphic nightmares after binge watching the first 4 episodes in a row. Finally some Dahmer content worth watching. If you’ve been watching, please send me your thoughts.
Hope you find something interesting in this weeks letter, please reach out to me for feedback and suggestions. I’ve already started having people send me great content suggestions, some of which have already made it into letters.

This week I did another solo episode, I discussed the heinous murder of Kimberly Proctor, a young woman from Langford BC. These two little POS psychopath boys from her school committed a brutal attack, rape and murder together, and to this day show no sign of remorse. Check it out on Youtube, Apple or Spotify. And maybe subscribe to us on youtube, if you want :)

HBO's Women Who Love Killers:This documentary is absolutely SHOCKING. It documents 5 cases of women who are/were in relationships with men in prison. Some of them serial killers, and all of these women met these men after they were locked up and after they learned of the HORRIFIC murders they committed. Included in this line up of evil bastards is Danny Rolling and Richard Ramirez. I always knew that serial killers attracted hoards of women after their incarceration but hearing from these women is just jaw dropping. This documentary doesn't really go into any of the psychological factors in the women, so i guess I am going to be doing my own research on that front. Rather it just allows the women, and some of the men, to explain their situations and answer the filmmakers questions. There is a version available on Youtube which is linked above, but it is also available on Crave if you have a subscription. Here is a video that might offer some insight into this phenomena:
Vice loves sex offenders
So, on my podcast this week, I mentioned this clip that I came across this week from a Vice documentary called Why Some Sex Offenders Never Get Out of Prison. It's hilarious. Vice makes this whole ass documentary, controversially taking the side of sex offenders, only to end on that note. I cackled. But what say you? I thought the documentary raised a few points that are worth thinking about... one being that sex offenders are often kept from seeing family members once they're released. That doesn't seem like the best idea if we want to keep these people from reoffending. The obvious caveat being that the family members should WANT to see their sex offender family member. And keep them the hell away from children for god’s sake! For the most part though, I did find this woman to be way too easy on the sex offenders she was talking about. She scoffed at laws in place that prevent registered sex offenders from dressing up as Santa or the Easter Bunny. Does that seem unreasonable to anyone???? And she kept complaining that there was a stigma against sex offenders. It seems to me that if we're going to stigmatize anything, sex offenders would be a good start. She also really played up the point that the sex offender registry doesn't help to rehabilitate these people or prevent sex crimes. And fine, maybe it doesn't. But I kind of think that the registry is more so there to keep track of sex offenders and warn potential victims of their whereabouts... right? As I said in my episode, I think that the main issue we should focus on is making sure people on the registry really deserve to be there. Especially for people who offend against children. It seems like people in the comments more or less agreed with me:
Am I missing anything here? Please discuss!
