Hey!
My name is Madison and I am the host of Who’s Knocking?, a true crime podcast. I’m also a pretty big true crime connoisseur. A question I always see in the true crime space is, what are your favourite true crime podcasts? There is so much content out there, it’s actually overwhelming. A pretty good problem to have, if you ask me.
SO. I am starting this newsletter to 1. curate podcasts, documentaries, series, news and books, and 2. start a creepy weird space for anyone fascinated with the same spooky shit that I for some reason love.
Every week I will send an issue of this newsletter to all who sign up, I will shamelessly plug my own podcast, but also give recommendations, some old, some new, some news! Everything will be something that I have personally listened to/watched/read and enjoyed (or was very disturbed by).
I will always be looking for feedback and suggestions from you! So please interact with me :)

The Pharmacist:
It’s 1999 and pharmacist Dan Schneider’s 22 year old son is gunned down while trying to purchase crack in New Orlean’s North Ninth Ward.
After a garbage investigation by the police, Dan takes matters into his own hands and solves the case like the bad ass he is.
But the story takes a wild turn when on returning to work at his local pharmacy, Dan Schneider uncovers an OxyContin scam doctor prescribing opioids to people for cash and fuelling the deadly opioid crisis in plain sight.
Inside the Mind of BTK:
“Legendary” FBI profiler John Douglas walks us through the life and crimes of Dennis Rader. I used this as one of my main sources for our 4 part series on the terrifying and pathetic Dennis Rader, AKA “BTK”. Which btw can be found here.
The Case Of LaVena Johnson | dreading:
I’ve really been obsessed with this YouTube channel, his deep dives are great, and his voice is soothing, kind of. This case in particular is ABSOLUTELY ENRAGING. LaVena was a member of the United States Army and was stationed in Iraq when she (ACCORDING TO THE GOVERNMENT) committed suicide. The HELL she did. Please watch!
The Latest
A little sprinkle of what I've found in true crime news...
- A very good rundown on the current sitch for the West Memphis 3
- Remember the Slenderman stabbing? Here's an update.
- Another case of (alleged) Munchausen by Proxy, the child is alive, but the mom is trying to kidnap him.
